Jack Russel pup hates being alone

Jack Russel pup hates being alone

my jack 6month pup hates being left alone. when i prepare to leave in the mornings he slinks away and tries to hide (but doesnt like looking away from me). one neighbour says that he sometimes barks constantly - and was howling continually one day. can you tell me what may be going through his head? and what i can do to stop his anxiety at being left alone? thanks!

ANSWER: Jack Russel pup hates being alone
This is clear separation anxiety and the dog is so attached to you that his world falls in bits when you leave, so he barks / cries for you to return. If he is put outside as part of you being away, make sure that this pattern is not just when you are not there. Start with putting him out for short time and ignore him when at home. Do NOT make any fuzz as this is the trigger, eg your car keys, you talking to him etc - something you always do trigger this and you need to find and change that. Build up time for him to be out when you are at home and eventually you can change this, but will take time. If persist get professional help as not nice on you and/or the dog.
