ANSWER: timid miniature schnauzer
Good on you! She may be an outside dog and never known the luxury of inhome living. Avoid molly coddling - a typical human thing. Build her confidence and trust by being a strong and fair leader. Be a coach and let her find things out in her own time. Feed her 3x day for starters, leave the food done for 30min only and remove; she needs to eat when supplied. If concern, use a tiny bit of tuna to add taste to the dry food (good quality dry is recommended) or use some gravy or add tiny bits of fresh mince. As soon as she starts eating, remove add-ons. Lead training, leave leash on and play with her without picking it up, slowly pick it up and never drag her as it will only make things worse - entice her to come (using treat or another person calling her). Soft voice, never shout at her and give her time - reward when she does good things, ignore otherwise. Good luck and if persists, see a good behavioural trainer.
