ANSWER: Kelpie X very aggressive when eating
Golden rule - never have kids going close to a dog with these tendencies. Food aggression is often combined with other forms of dominance. Lack of leadership is often the cause for all this. Suggest that you go back to hand feeding him for a short while. Feed him from the hand that does not hold the bowl; eg left hand holds the bowl, right hand feeds etc. Until he is comfy for you to feed him from the bowl he does not get to eat from his bowl. Start 'give' games, where he has to return things, balls, Frisbees, toys etc. No bones at the moment - and only until he freely 'gives' things. Look at his food - good quality dry food only, no fresh food or scraps, Feed 2 x day. If persists get help and do not in any way confront or threaten. Show leadership above all. Get professional help.
