Calming dog in a thunderstorm

A friend has told me that I can soothe my nervious dog during a storm by giving him a small amount of brandy mixed with rescue remedy,diluted with water. Will this harm my dog?

Alcohol is bad for any dog in any form - diluted or other, so do not recommend that. Rescue Remedy is used and could work, other medications/treatments are around as well from your vet. Never use any human medication on your dog either as their absorption is so different to ours. I use DAP (dog appeasing pheromones) for anxiety treatments as it is a natural product - available from your vet.
