Our friend could no longer care for there 18month old pure breed Staffy so my partner and I have taken him in. He has been at our place for 3 days and will not settle down, he constantly jumps on us and as soon as he can't see us he will cry. How long befor he is confortable in his new home?

All dogs are different, so it?s hard to place a time frame on it. Remember not to encourage anxious behaviour. You must ignore cries or jumps. Any emotional reaction to his efforts will re-enforce the behaviour. Lots of love, exercise and patience should be the key.
