Dog moving his bed

Our dog has a bed in the shed and he continually moves the pillow out to sit on in front of the sliding door where he can see us. This is fine during the day but at night it is freezing and he is shaking in the morning and refuses to go to the shed where it is warm. Should we tie him up in the shed at night? Cheers anna
