Terrier / Maltese dog has lost a big patch of hair on her body

My Terrier/Maltese dog has lost a big patch of hair on her body. I'm not sure if it's because she's albino or if she has fleas which could caused her to bite her hair off her skin. This has happened twice before and the hair grew back. Has anyone experience the same problem? I need some advice please.
