I have 2 Cavoodles 1 male 1 female they are 18 months old and desexed. My problem is that we cant let them out in the front garden because as soon as the door to the garage is opened they bolt, it is very hard to get them back again. I have tried putting one on the lead and checking the mail box with the other following, and I give them treats on the way out but they get that excited that they think they are going for a walk. Can you please tell me how to stop them running off.
ANSWER: Cavoodles training
I have known quite a few Cavoodles in my time. As adorable as they are, they are nutty. That's the Poodle in them. Being 18 months old they are still young so with time they may start to settle down. In all honesty I would just suggest keeping them on the lead when checking the letter box. Better to be safe than sorry. Practice recalls every day in different situations and with some maturity and practice it will come full circle.
