Oh bother. Well, Border Collies are the smartest dogs in my opinion. I think he has just decided that he can call your bluff and he can get away with anything. I know its hard, but you have to get tough. Really really tough. Training is all well and good, but you need to adopt a persona to suit. My I love and adore my Jack Russell but he drives me nuts at times, I have to be very strong and firm with him. Otherwise he walks all over me. Literally! Look at the way you handle him, and your body posture. When you ask him to 'sit' or similar, pull your shoulders back, stand tall, take large strides, put a growl in your voice - I bet you he will take notice of what you say. Think of someone in your life who is strong and powerful. Become that person when it comes to handling and correcting your dog. Its all in the body language I say! Practice makes perfect.
