chronic huffy cough

The 6-7 yr old terrier next to us recently developed a chronic, 'huffing' kind of cough, occasionally productive which his vet cannot offer a diagnosis for. a few days ago, after some walking and swimming, he lay down and suffered a mild heart attack. Has anyone any ideas about what might be wrong with him? Whether the cough and heart attack might be related?

The cough can be a indercation that something is wrong, although this can be the case in many different situations. Is there a specalist vet centre that you can see in your local area? Ideally you would like to have a chest x- ray done.
