My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy does not get into toilet training

My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy is a lovely little girl she is very smart and affectionate but she really does not get into toilet training. She just goes wherever she wants - sometimes out in the backyard but sometimes on the carpet, on my bed, on her bed... I am being firm with her when it comes to it, putting her outside and saying "no"... praising her when she gets it right. But she still manages to get it wrong. What do I do?

I think you will have to go more over the top. Be prepared to pounce at any appropriate wee time. Literally have liver treats in your pocket at all times and lavish her with floods of praise and treats when she does it at the right place. It's more about the praise at the right time, rather than punishment at the wrong time. She should pick it up eventually. If not, possibly find a good trainer.
