Golden Retriever very sad

Golden Retriever very sad

3 days ago, my 7 yr old Golden Retriever was put to sleep after a ruptured disc in her spine. My 5 yr old Golden Retriever has taken the loss very badly. She will lay down where our other dog would have layed on the bed whining, shes running in every room of the house looking for her, then signals she needs to go out and look outside for her. We brought her back home with us after she had gone so that we could say our proper goodbyes and our other girl could too. They were inseperable for the past 7 weeks as we rescued the poor old girl 7 weeks ago. I don't know what to do for her. I have never had to do this before and she is taken the loss really badly, to her she has lost her mum and best friend. She thought she was her mum. Can you help what I can do for my girl to make the emotional pain heal a little at least.

Answer: Golden Retriever very sad
I honestly have tears in my eyes. What a sad story, I am so sorry for your loss. Unfortunatly, there isn't much you can do. Dogs grieve greatly, as do we. And nothing but time can help see us all through. I have recently gone through the same story with one of my clients, she had a elderly Jack Russell named Jack and elderly Foxi named Spot. Unfortunately Jack was put down 17 weeks ago. We have found that Spot has taken comfort in my very own Jack Russell Jimbo! Spot now reponds to my Jimbo as he did with Jack, and in the last few weeks we have seen a big improvement in Spot! Maybe your Golden will also find comfort in other Goldens? Maybe you could literally set up a regular play date with another local Golden? I am sorry I can't be more helpful.
